Focusing on the idea of time, Alexopoulos explores the ancient Egyptian technique of mummification in order to redefine the form, by holding it captive through time. With his special technique he gives the work an usual velvet texture.

Stathis Alexopoulos is an artist based in Athens, Greece. His sculptures concern themselves with the combination of both the past and present, exploring different techniques to bring together the concepts of time and art. Alexopoulos has had numerous solo exhibitions and his work can be found in major museum collections internationally.
